About Centripedal.com

Centripedal is a weblog and collection of resources from around the internet about life, multisports and balancing life and multisports. It consists of a weblog and a collection of resources.

A Weblog? Multisport Life? Huh?

A weblog, or blog, is basically an online diary written by someone about a topic. In this case, that someone is Mike Papageorge, and the topic is Life and Multisports.

Life and Multisports

I grew up playing fairly high level soccer. As I transitioned from University to a working life - and away from soccer - I still had the drive to train. This lead me to multisports, more specifically triathlon. Ergo the Multisports.

So what about Life?

Well, when I first got into tri's and such, I was single and had a lot of free time on my hands. This didn't stop me from noticing how many of my married peers - and those with children - struggled to balance Life with a habit that can be very demanding.

Well, now I am one of those people! Happily married with my (intelligent/beautiful/thoughtful/tolerant/++) wife Sonia and father to my son Alex Papageorge.

Knowing what my married-and-children-possessing tri friends went through, I decided that I would use this website as a platform to learn (the Resources) and to share my experiences (the Weblog) as I try and balance Life and Multisports.

Balance between Life and Multisports: Centripedal.com

The name Centripedal is a play on the term centripetal, which can be defined as tending to move toward a center. I thought that was fitting, as the balance that I am looking to find could be considered a 'center', and this website it about me trying to find that center.

That, and of course Centripedal has the words tri and pedal in it!

So, that's the centripedal story. For a longer version of this post (the official Welcome to Centripedal) , check out the very first post in the weblog.

I also blog about web development over at Fiftyfoureleven.com. Yep, 54-11 :-)
